The electrical grid of today is largely unchanged since the beginning of the 20th century – that is, we’re still basically working with a 100-year old energy dinosaur. But, energy sources and users are evolving: wind and solar power, electric cars, smart devices, and better batteries, to name a few.
Introduced by Prof. Jef Poortmans, prominent speakers from academic and business backgrounds will discuss the technical possibilities and hurdles involved in redesigning the energy grid. Their discussion will range from nano- and microgrid concepts to the evolution and future role of transmission companies, paying special attention to real-world economic implications at the various levels.
Join us on 21 March at EnergyVille in Genk to find out what the possible energy solutions that will impact every-day life are!
