Mobile news on the rise in Flanders

In 2017, an increasingly large share of Flemings indicated to check the daily news on their smartphones. The device is clearly gaining ground on traditional news sources like radio and national TV. Newspapers, however, seem to hold their ground. Across all age groups, Flemings are more and more combining traditional news media with online and/or mobile sources. Remarkably, the number of 15-19 year olds using news websites, digital newspapers, social media and search engines to keep track of current events is decreasing.
