How gaming helps to create a better world.
In this Visionary Seminar, we bring together national and international top speakers in the realm of digital gaming who have a vision on how to create meaningful games for and in an open and inclusive society.
Bieke Zaman (KU Leuven) will open the discussion on today’s fun society and argue for debunking player stereotypes. Opening keynote Rami Ismail (Vlambeer) will outline innovative ways to embrace cultural and geographical variety in the gaming industry, and Kathrin Gerling (KU Leuven) will focus on the inclusion of people with special needs. Karsten Gielis (KU Leuven) and Jeroen Janssens (Happy Volcano) discuss progressive applications, such as the use of games as biomarkers and new territories for industry. The closing keynote takes us to a lifelong gaming agenda and shows what video gaming can bring to the lives of elderly people.
