Like so many technological devices, power converters are shrinking in size while expanding their performance. Recently, imec enabled a new stage in this evolution through its introduction of GaN-on-SI e-mode/normally-off technology – and its monolithic integration on one single chip.

In his virtual talk at the 2020 edition of the CS International Conference, Denis Marcon, senior business development manager, discussed the details of imec’s GaN technology. And he demonstrated how wafer suppliers, foundries and IDMs can directly benefit from its possibilities.
