Through its Telenet Kickstart program, Telenet has co-invested in the imec.istart fund. It invests financially, as well as with expertise, network and mentors. Additionally, Telenet offers all selected imec.istart projects free connectivity for 1 year for up to 5 people per start-up.
Cronos will provide coaching based on the state of the art technological knowledge from its group of organizations, as well as through its extensive experience within the industry. Additionally, Cronos has co-invested in the imec.istart fund as structural partner.
Flemish Government (Flemish Minister of Innovation)
The Flemish Government strongly believes in the power of change and innovation. Therefore, it has joined the imec.istart fund as structural investment partner, in order for start-ups to be able to grow and thrive, and generate a positive contribution to the wealth of the region.
Certibit offers specialized, independant insurance advice to start-ups. Selected imec.istart projects are offered a free 360° Insurance Scan. Every aspect of their business will be carefully examined from an insurance point a view. During the programme on demand workshops and coaching will be provided covering all kinds of topics.
Through an extensive network of insurance companies Certibit can tackle a wide range of business risks, both nationally and internationally.
Cresco, a renowned business law firm, offers three types of support to all selected imec.istart projects.
Firstly, they share their expert knowledge through some workshops on highly relevant topics (e.g. founder and shareholder relations and agreements, preparation for attracting investors from a legal perspective, commercial contracts).
Secondly, they offer (at least) one hour of free of charge one-on-one coaching and legal advice to tackle individual legal needs of all imec.istart projects.
Thirdly, Cresco will share some basic contract templates that may be relevant to the start-ups and different contexts.
SD Worx offers specialized advice on all HR aspects: from the Statute of self-employed entrepreneurs, to recruiting the first employees and payroll services.
Since SD Worx likes making an extra effort for imec.istart participants, they are dropping the registration fees. Through their Starters Service, SD Worx focuses on helping budding entrepreneurs on their way to growth.
Xerius informs and advises self-employed entrepreneurs and businesses on starting up, from even before the creation of the business until all formalities are met: preparations on the legal form, application for the company registration number, VAT activation, licenses and social security of the partners...
For imec.istart participants, Xerius is dropping the costs connected with activating the VAT.
IP Hills provides counselling in the domain of intellectual property (copyrights, designs, trademarks, patents, etc.), thereby focusing on seven sectors: telecom, media, medical, energy, interior, sports and food. IP Hills currently consists of 10 experts, offering support to more than 350 businesses (start-ups as well as large companies). With offices in Ghent and Mechelen, IP Hills provides a pragmatic, high-quality and focused customer service.
Liedekerke Wolters Waelbroeck Kirckpatrick
Liedekerke offers legal advice to start-ups in a broad array of areas, most notably in commercial law, IP/IT contracts and data protection, employment, tax, issues in relation to the internationalization of the start-ups, etc.
BlueHealth Innovation Center
BlueHealth Innovation Center is a consortium of actors with extensive experience and networks in developing new health and care innovation and supporting start-ups. The partnership consists of Agfa HealthCare, Cronos, UCB, imec, City of Antwerp, University Hospital Antwerp (UZA) and University of Antwerp. BlueHealth wants to support new start-ups with innovative eHealth applications. BlueHealth aims at supporting commercial development of an eHealth business idea, financially as well as content-wise.
Cronos will host BlueHealth Innovation Center at StartUp Village, as well as provide coaching based on the state of the art technological knowledge from its group of organizations, as well as through its extensive experience within the industry.
UCB bring substantive experience to the consortium when it comes to regulatory matters, patient data and knowledge on different diseases and treatments.

University Hospital Antwerp (UZA) will through its Clinical Research Center Antwerp act as central point of contact to unlock the large potential of its clinical setting as testing facility for new eHealth applications (including regulatory and legal assistance, ethical framework and, wherever possible, access to patient data).
