The Compute and Memory Device (CMD) department focuses on the research and development of memory and storage semiconductor technologies. In particular, we develop emerging concepts and technologies for DRAM applications. Between them, over the last years we explored and developed to a mature level back-end transistors based on oxide semiconductors like Indium-Gallium-Zinc-Oxide (IGZO). This technology not only holds the promise of extending the DRAM scaling roadmap by means of 3D stacking, but also increases drastically the power efficiency due to the extremely low leakage current of the IGZO material. Other transistor concepts considered in this DRAM segment are charge-based memory concepts, such as floating-body cell devices, that would also allow 3D stacking and thus DRAM scaling roadmap extension.
To further strengthen the device characterization team, we are looking for a researcher with solid technical skills in electrical testing and analysis of transistors. Deep insight into the transistor device physics will be required in order to capture the impacts of materials, integration process steps, as well as device geometry and effects observed along with scaling. The position will also require a creative mindset to solve limitations and generate solutions boosting cell performances, together with strong communication skills and teamwork attitude to interact with internal partners and industrial customers.
