Analyzing Security when Querying over Decentralized Environments

Master projects/internships - Gent | More than two weeks ago

Investigate security and privacy concerns for querying at client-side.

Problem
Querying over datasets that are quasi-centralized has been an active area of research for several decades. However, over the recent years, large-scale decentralization has been a topic of interests due to recent privacy scandals.
To solve this problem, query execution can be moved from server-side to client-side. While security handling within server-side query execution has been well-investigated, this has not been researched at all for client-side query execution.

Goal
In this thesis, you will investigate the security and privacy concerns for querying at client-side. This will involve creating attacker models that can be demonstrated in existing query engines. For this, you can make use of Comunica, an client-side query engine for quick prototyping.
