About miDiagnostics

miDiagnostics is developing a new generation of disposable tests that require only drops of blood and allow detection of cells, proteins, nucleic acids, and/or small molecules. Its core technology is a
novel silicon-based nanofluidic processor that automatically processes the blood sample without the need of pumps or valves. There is no need for complex and costly instrumentation enabling medical decisions to be taken at the point of need or remote areas with a high level of comfort to both patients and caregivers.

The Job

You will be part of a dynamic, international and multidisciplinary team that develops a completely new medical diagnostic device to be used at the point of need. As Assay Development Lead you will
lead the assay and biology-related activities involved with transitioning test prototypes into market ready products. You will take ownership in organizing the experimental designs, setting up the
procedures and test methodologies, evaluating and interpreting the data, and writing scientific reports and documentation according to ISO 13485 quality standards.

  • Translate product requirements into experimental designs and test plans
  • Organize and follow up execution of experimental test plans
  • Interpret and steer experimental outcomes
  • Write scientific reports and documentation in line with the latest IVD standards
  • Take ownership in writing manuscripts, grants and/or patent applications
  • Stay abreast of the latest scientific developments and techniques in the field of point-of-care testing and haematology
  • Coach and mentor team of assay scientists and lab technicians
  • Be part of an international and multidisciplinary team

Profile and competences

  • You have a PhD degree in: (bio)chemistry engineering technology, biomedical sciences, chemical engineering, biomedical engineering or bioscience engineering
  • Minimum of 3 years of industrial experience in IVD product development
  • Experience in medical (point of care) diagnostics device development is a strong plus
  • Previous experience in the haematology field is a plus
  • Hands-on and resourceful problem solver is a must
  • Very good technical writing and communication skills
  • Good sense of business-related activities
  • Attention to detail, work in a structured and methodological way
  • Team-player
  • Eager to learn novel concepts and technologies
