To strengthen this position as a leading player in our field, we are looking for those passionate talents that make the difference! Currently we are looking for a motivated Deputy Project Coordinator and Senior Researcher on Silicon Photonic MEMS Circuits.
The Photonics Research Group at IMEC provides a rich, interactive and international community with state-of-the-art facilities and ample opportunities for on-the-job learning, and building both technical and managerial skills.
IMEC is looking for a postdoctoral researcher in the framework of the H2020 European project MORPHIC. The 3.5 year project aims to demonstrate large-scale programmable silicon photonic circuits augmented with MEMS actuators for phase tuning, coupling and switching. The project has 6 partners, and is coordinated by the IMEC Photonics Research Group located on the Technology campus in Ghent, Belgium. As a postdoc, you would have a dual role:
- Assist in the coordination and day-to-day follow-up of the project. The project will be managed based according to LEAN principles, with strong interaction between the partners
- Perform and coordinate MORPHIC-related research in the photonics research group, interacting with a larger team of PhD students and postdocs.
As a researcher, you should have a basic background in photonics, and preferable a knowledge of photonic integrated circuits. Affinity with control systems, electronics and programming is very relevant for the MORPHIC project. Interests in project and team management techniques, or prior experience, is definitely a strength for the role as deputy project coordinator.
In exchange for your talent, passion and expertise, you will join a multicultural and high-tech company, with challenges there for the taking. Our flexible, progressive and informal working environment offers you a range of possibilities to take initiative and show responsibility. This is your opportunity to contribute to the technology that will determine the society of tomorrow. imec supports and guides you in this process; not only with words but with concrete actions. Your valuable contribution and that of your colleagues make imec a top player in its field. Your energy and commitment are therefore appreciated by means of an attractive and competitive salary with many fringe benefits.
We offer you an extendable position of 1 year in the Photonics Research Group, imec’s associated lab at Ghent University.
