What you will do
Imec.IC-link helps start-ups, SMEs and established OEMs as well as universities realize their ideas in silicon by providing low-cost prototyping, volume production and system integration of electronic assemblies.
Our world class industrial service experts in nanotechnology offer tailored support across the entire IC value chain, from imagination to mass production, and collaborate with leading partners in the semiconductor ecosystem. Our highly experienced ASIC development team realizes over 600 successful tape-outs per year across all our supported technologies (CMOS, GaN-on-SOI, Si and SiN photonics).
Imec.IC-link is based in Leuven, Belgium and is a TSMC value chain aggregator for Europe, North America, Brazil and India.
You will work closely together with the business development team members of imec’s Iclink division. You will be involved in the pre-sales technical discussions with new ASIC customers and will take full ownership of guiding these customers to the right ASIC technology, assisting them to choose the right IP and/or any other imec solution. Your technical expertise and communication skills will be crucial to land new engagements.
You will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Work in tandem
with the Business Development Managers to execute imec.IC-links sales strategy by providing insights in
and advising customers on, all foundry technologies in imec’s portfolio (primarily TSMC, UMC and XFAB), follow up on newly introduced technologies and make the right comparisons and conclusions meeting the customer’s needs.
- Guiding customers related to the industry practices concerning foundry activities (Tape-out, engineering, production ...)
- Connecting with the relevant IMEC R&D teams and make the link with the customers’ requirements, if relevant
- Besides the foundry technology you will be responsible for understanding the Library/IP availabilities for the relevant technologies. You will maintain strong contact with IP vendors.
- You will advise the sales team in technical discussions.
- You will maintain a strong relation with the foundries that manufacture these chips.

Who you are
- You have a master’s degree (or higher) in industrial sciences (Electronic Engineering).
- You have at least 5 years of relevant experience in the semiconductor ecosystem.
- You have a strong interest in fabrication of chips (integrated circuits) and a drive to help customers.
- Knowledge of chip-fabrication techniques is mandatory. You are client-oriented, flexible, like taking initiatives and ownership of a project.
- You are a good communicator and you have good command of English.
