Currently we are looking for a motivated Hardware Assistant EnergyVille (Genk).
In order to realize its ambitions in the field of Intelligent Energy related research, imec is currently investing in a new laboratory infrastructure “EnergyVille 2”, located on the Thor site in Genk, which will become operational in January 2018. 2000 m2 of new laboratory space will be equipped with state-of-the-art production and analysis tools for multi-disciplinary research in the fields of Renewable Energy Generation and Storage.We are currently looking for a new colleague enthusiastic to be a first-minute member of the support team that will ensure an optimized performance of this novel infrastructure.
As hardware assistant, you will be responsible for the installation and structural maintenance of the tools under your responsibility:
- You execute preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs.
- You coordinate maintenance and repair activities of tool suppliers and other external parties.
- You offer technical support in optimizing the performance of assigned tools.
- You determine and document suitable maintenance procedures on assigned tools.
You will be member of a dedicated and flexible support & operations team, creating the right conditions for high-level research activities on the frontier of our future Intelligent Energy systems.
You have a Technical Bachelor degree, or similar by experience. Preferentially, you have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar function in a semiconductor or energy R&D environment. You are able to prioritize assignments and multi-task in a quickly evolving environment. You are a team player, and are willing to work in a flexible daytime working hours’ regime offering 12h/day support coverage together with your colleagues. You are fluent in Dutch and as a minimum have a basic spoken/written knowledge of English.
