Enable a key technology for wider silicon photonics adoption

In this position, the successful candidate will be working on characterization of hybrid integrated semiconductor lasers on silicon-photonics devices. The intern will be responsible for developing measurement and data acquisition techniques, performing optical and electrical testing, and data analysis on the hybridly integrated laser diode. Minimum Qualifications: • Must be pursuing a Masters or Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Optical Science or related fields with a strong background in integrated optics and electro-optic devices. • 1+ years of work or educational experience with electrical and optical testing, fiber-to-waveguide optical alignment, basic optical test setup guidelines. • 1+ years of experience in integrated optics, photonics characterization, data acquisition and analysis software such as Python, or Matlab

Duration: 3 to 4 months

Required degree: Master of Engineering Technology, Master of Science, Master of Engineering Science

Required background: Nanoscience & Nanotechnology, Physics
