Imec is an established world-leading research center in nanoelectronics, where international top talent researchers and engineers leverage their knowledge to develop innovative technology solutions. The advances in nanoelectronics are inherently linked with the enhanced fundamental understanding of the nanoscale materials and components. Thus, the Materials and Component Analysis department (MCA) plays an important role within imec by providing feedback on material properties and on device architectures.
The ion-beam-analysis team of MCA (MCAiba) provides imec-wide support for process development through materials and device characterization using analytical techniques like RBS, ERD, NRA and PIXE. To strengthen the MCAiba team, we are currently looking for a metrology specialist.
As a metrology specialist in the ion-beam-analysis team you significantly contribute by the maintenance and the advancement of the electronics and ICT technologies, and you perform state-of-the art RBS/ERD/NRA/PIXE experiments and data analysis.
For the materials analysis, you will be trained by, supported by, and work together with researchers and PhD students to exploit the unique capabilities of the accelerator-based infrastructures at imec. The state-of-the art results that you generate are unique and very relevant, and highly valued by the imec colleagues to whom you report the results.
For the advancement of the electronics and ICT technologies, you methodically analyse and improve the various processes related to ion-beam materials characterization. Autonomously and in consultation with the team, you take care of:
As such, you increase the tool availability, measurement efficiency and experimental capabilities. You bring the data-analysis, data-interpretation, and reporting to the next level through the implementation of novel data analysis routines and by adapting advanced computational approaches. The developments are part of the strategic research plan.
We offer you the opportunity to join one of the world’s premier research centers in nanotechnology at its headquarters in Leuven, Belgium. With your talent, passion and expertise, you’ll become part of a team that makes the impossible possible. Together, we shape the technology that will determine the society of tomorrow.
We are committed to being an inclusive employer and proud of our open, multicultural, and informal working environment with ample possibilities to take initiative and show responsibility. In everything we do, your future colleagues are guided by the imec values of passion, excellence, connectedness, and integrity. We commit to supporting and guiding you in this process, not only with words but also with tangible actions. Through imec.academy, 'our corporate university', we actively invest in your development to further your technical and personal growth.
We are aware that your valuable contribution makes imec a top player in its field. Your energy and commitment are therefore appreciated by means of a market appropriate salary with many fringe benefits.
