What you will do

Imec-USA is looking for a graduate level mm-wave IC design intern for a mm-wave imaging project. Mm-wave imaging technology can be used for many applications such as security screening, non-destructive testing, and medical diagnosis. You will participate in developing an integrated SoC (System on Chip) for a millimeter wave imaging system. Your responsibilities include:

  • Design and optimization of circuit blocks in the mm-wave signal chain
  • Validating the new ideas through simulations
  • Optimization of schematic and layout of assigned blocks so that they are ready for tape-out
  • Work with senior researchers to define the system and block level specifications
  • Participating in brain storming sessions
  • Documentation of ideas, design methodology, and schematic and extracted simulation results
  • Deliver the final GDS file for tape out

Who you are

  • Currently enrolled in a relevant PhD program in a top university
  • Completed Undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Successful completion of relevant courses including IC Design, microwave engineering, electronic devices, is required
  • Experienced in analog, RF and mm-wave IC design
  • Tape-out experience in advanced process technology nodes
  • Proficient in mm-wave IC design tools such as Cadence, ADS, HFSS
  • Good publication record demonstrating research experience
  • Highly motivated to work in a research environment
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
