Embedded development for cutting-edge radar systems
Recently IMEC achieved outstanding results on high frequency radar development. A compact, highly-sensitive 140 GHz FMCW radar-on-chip prototype system demonstrator has been developed and demonstrated in operation (see picture below). Key differentiators of the IMEC 140 GHz radar prototype are its small size and high radar performances in terms of resolution and motion sensitivity. These properties make the radar system particularly appealing for applications where these properties are key such as automotive, drones, gesture recognition.
Your task will be to bring this platform demonstrator to the next level.
The successful candidate must show understanding of embedded development (FPGA / Firmware / Embedded Linux, PYNQ). Proficiency with python is a must. Some knowledge of radar concepts is a plus.
