Process Assistant for Silicon Photonics and 3D Integration 

What you will do


Your primary responsibilities will be to support the Si Photonics integration and 3D teams at imec with high quality feedback on inspection results (optical microscopy, Inspection SEM, cross sectional SEM) and various metrology systems (such as topography profiling, Atomic Force Microscopy etc). This feedback will enable fast resolution to in-line issues found with integration lots plus advice and understanding towards process improvement activities.   
You will work within the Si Photonics Integration team, spending considerable time discussing requirements with the integration specialists. As part of this you will receive training on the specifics of the Si Photonics process flows and all inspection / metrology related systems necessary. You will be responsible for part of the logistics related to the different experiments the integration teams are running.  
After the appropriate amount of training you will be expected to bring your own decision-making capability to the team, improving the speed of learning and contributing to the projects with solutions and suggestions where possible. You will disseminate your findings and analysis via written reports. Additionally, you will also be expected to present data, reports and conclusions within module meetings or team / group meetings.
Finally, you will be expected to build simple flows conceptually and then (after verification by the engineering team) create and follow up in our MES and clean room environments.
You will work in a shift regime alternating early/late/weekend.

Who you are

  • You have a Professional bachelor’s in chemistry, Physics, Electronics or equivalent through experience.
  • You have experience in a cleanroom/laboratory environment.
  • You are accurate, focused to deliver results meeting specific targets and deadlines.   
  • You work in an organized and timely manner.
  • You are enthusiastic, flexible and eager to learn.
  • You have a sense of urgency and will take initiative.
  • Effective communication and reporting skills are required.
  • Given the international character of imec, good knowledge of (spoken and written) English is a must.
  • You are open to work in a shift regime (early/late/weekend)
