Master projects/internships - Gent | More than two weeks ago
Work together with Design Museum of Ghent to publish their data.
Problem
Cultural heritage organizations (musea, libraries, archives…) are strong advocates of Open Data. However, not all information can be shared publicly, such as the internal location of certain pieces. In the Collections of Ghent project, the Open Data publishing of 5 institutions in Ghent (Design Museum Ghent, STAM, Industriemuseum, Huis van Alijn, Archief Ghent) has already been done with the Linked Data Event Streams (LDES) publishing strategy. Now, these institutions want to explore how they can use LDES for their sensitive information and how they can choose with whom (fire department, insurance, government) they can share the information.
Goal
In this thesis, the student will be able to work together with the Design Museum of Ghent to solve a concrete use case. He/she will learn how authorization currently works in the Linked Data world (see also Solid) and apply this to cultural heritage information.
