R&D engineer nanoimprint lithography
What you will do
Imec’s Advanced Patterning activities are developing the next generation of lithographic patterning for a wide variety of applications. In this R&D activity, we are currently looking for an R&D engineer to support our Nanoimprint Lithography (NIL) tool. He/she will actively participate in the development of nanoimprint lithography as the primary engineer responsible for imec’s Fab NIL tool. For this challenging task, we are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person for hands-on research in NIL, process development and device prototyping.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Acting as the primary engineer responsible for the automated NIL tool
- Mastering requests for new applications and creating tool recipes
- Characterizing new resists and substrates for NIL
- Collaborating in a dynamic multidisciplinary and multicultural environment in close cooperation with researchers, hardware engineers, operations, industry assignees, and device and process experts.
- Regular reporting in a consistent and rigorous way.

Who you are
- You are a self-motivated engineer, who seizes opportunities and is enthused by new challenges.
- You have a master’s degree in science or engineering or equivalent experience.
- You have experience with processing equipment. Experience with processing in a high-tech laboratory cleanroom environment is a plus.
- You speak fluent English.
- You take the initiative and work independently, while being part of a team.
- You are result-driven and flexible to meet stringent deadlines with quality output.
The imec environment requires a good team player with competent communication and reporting skills.
Given the international character of imec, a good knowledge of English is mandatory.
