Context

Currently, IMEC has decided to launch a strategic initiative called SmartPilotLines aligned with an Industry 4.0 based ambition for accelerated efficiency gains in both cleanroom operations and research support. As part of this program, we started with the definition of a future (conceptual) architecture for the OT and IT building blocks supporting this ambition. Examples include dispatcher, recipe management system, load & go automations, ... We will be designing and implementing each of the components in this architecture over the coming years.

What you will do

You will be working in IMEC’s FAB Engineering Department in one of the dedicated processes areas.
For this role: 

  • You will be 100% dedicated in your engineering area to Automation, Equipment integration, FDC (Fault Detection) connections and model creation, security, remote access, Subfab integration, IoT, smart sustainability and other fields associated with industry 4.0. 
  • You will support the central product owners in the design of processes and (software) solutions for the above topics. 
  • You have an extensive knowledge of deposition and diffusion Tools. 
  • You will build up a network with the business and our development partners. 
  • You will prepare and coordinate tests together with the product owners, externals, and ICT. 
  • You will support change management actions (communication, training, go live support). 
  • You will work in an Agile way which means deliver quickly through different iterations (sprints) and increments.  
  • You will work in a cross-functional team that effectively works together towards a solution, bringing in all the expertise needed from all stakeholders: FAB ICT team, Fab business, tool suppliers, ICT infrastructure teams, development partners.

Who you are

  • You already have +10 years of experience in a senior process engineer or fab engineer position, preferably semiconductor deposition and diffusion production / manufacturing system implementations. Your in-depth tool knowledge allows you to quickly familiarize yourself with concepts such as industry 4.0, FDC, etc... 
  • You can work independently and in a team. With your no-nonsense attitude, you coordinate with the team to get the job done. 
  • Your strong analytic and problem-solving skills enable you to interpret customer requirements and issues. 
  • You have strong communication skills, allowing you to build good relationships with stakeholders from different imec business units and externals such as Tool Vendors. 
  • You are persistent and take initiative when needed. 
  • You have fluent knowledge of both Dutch and English. 
  • You feel comfortable in a complex and demanding environment.
