Ingestible for Gut Health
As part of Ingestible for Gut Health project, OnePlanet Research Center is currently developing miniaturized
electrochemical sensors in a smart pill that enables non-invasive monitoring of
the gastrointestinal tract.
The primary challenge in applying
electrochemical sensors in the gut’s environment is to ensure high selectivity
of target analyte. Secondly, the lifetime of these sensors is usually affected
by the harsh environment condition in the gut. This aspect can be improved by a
careful material selection. This work aims to optimize the selectivity and
stability of electrochemical sensors.
This project focuses on investigating different types of electrochemical sensors that are suitable for the gut’s environment.
You will be working with the electrochemical sensors team for the Ingestible for Gut Health project in a new lab located in Wageningen, the Netherlands.
