Student project: Realization of ingestible sensor firmware update tool based on a novel UI framework

What you will do

OnePlanet Research Center aims to develop completely new technology that will incorporate miniaturized sensors in a pill, connect them to a digital platform with advanced chips that can read these data, and transmit it to a data platform that can interpret the recorded parameters. As the ingestible technology is constantly evolving, firmware upgrade functionality is essential. To control the firmware update functionality, to provide user feedback and to assure success of the upgrade-process a dedicated tool is needed. In this development we want to introduce a UI framework that will be candidate for later use in a large tool-suite; the firmware upgrade tool serves as the pilot realisation. What you will do:

  • Design User Interface to be used by production operators, lab assistants, researchers and developers.
  • Implement the business logic for controlling the flow of operation for firmware upgrade.
  • Demonstrate the user interface design using a combination of Python and React.
  • Align with stakeholders on the desired outcome.
  • Contribute to and align with the Agile/Scrum team.

In this internship you will have the opportunity to contribute to innovative research and be an important member of the development team. You will learn from and apply the established design patterns and development process.
