You will develop accurate RF device models, the key ingredients to connect circuit design to the latest technology imec builds for the next high speed radios.

The High-speed analog/RF program of imec aims to develop new III-V technologies compatible with large scale Si platform dedicated for the development of advanced RF and mmWave circuits. This enables the realization of power efficient radios for 5G and beyond. 
In this PhD, you'll develop advanced compact models valid up to mmWave frequencies, including parasitics, nonlinear and temperature effects.
The physical approach of modelling is essential since the models will be used not only for circuit design, but also for providing feddback to technology development.

Required background: electrical engineer, applied physics, or equivalent

Type of work: 70% modeling, 20% experimental, 10% literature
