The ‘De Krook’ building in Ghent hosts the city library. With about 7000 people passing by every single day, it is the ideal place to interact with citizens and engage with them to test and co-create smart applications.

Citizens are informed of new projects via the DataWall, a large interactive platform between citizens and researchers that consists of several big displays located at the building’s central staircase. ‘Phosphotron’ is an immersive lab in which companies can test their solutions using virtual and augmented reality. And the Prototyping Lab is where prototypes are made to easily present concepts and ideas to the public. It uses techniques such as 3D printing, laser cutting and vinyl printing.
