Pixel Characterization Engineer
What you will do
IMEC Derivative Technologies department offers companies to develop and fabricate customized specialty microsystems that cannot be produced in standard CMOS technology. To achieve this, we have added platforms for processing of various CMOS imagers – hyperspectral, backside illuminated, embedded CCD-in-CMOS, MEMS and NEMS, photonics, and microfluidics chips. We are able to tune our technology to the demands of the customer and develop the technology flow for both prototypes and low-volume production.
You will be working in IMEC’s Pixel Technology Explore group / Pixel Devices team as Pixel Characterization engineer. Our team aims to develop innovative imager technologies for diverse fields and applications.
As a Pixel Characterization Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Electrical and optical measurements of advanced imagers
- Building-up and optimizing current measurement setups
- Defining innovative characterization methods
- Developing of in-house measurement and data analysis software (Python)
- Contributing to imager development roadmap by assessing specifications criteria
- Reporting results to internal and external customers

Who you are
We appreciate your Master’s or PhD degree, with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in similar role and preferably in an industrial environment. We value your deep knowledge in Device physics and experience in TCAD Simulations and Semiconductor Technology. Your strong organization & planning skills are a huge added value to us. Your ability to communicate complex problems in a manner that also non-experts can understand, is a plus. Since you will be working in a highly international environment and will be maintaining a good contact with colleagues and customers, fluency in English is essential.
