By registering for the opening of imec Finland event (“Event”) you (“Participant”) agree that you have read and accept these general terms and conditions (“Terms”) of imec vzw (“imec”) and that you shall be legally bound by them. Participants must provide accurate and up-to-date information during the registration process.
Registration for the Event is by invitation only.
Imec reserves the right to change, postpone or cancel the Event at any time. In such cases, imec will not be liable for any costs, expenses, damages or loss incurred as a result of this change, cancellation or postponement.
Imec is not liable if the Event is, in whole or in part, cancelled, rescheduled or postponed, or for any failure or delay to perform its obligations under these Terms, if such event results from force majeure events, meaning anything beyond its reasonable control (for example, natural disasters, pandemic, flood, fire, acts of terror, war, labor strike, extreme weather, malicious damage, compliance with any law or governmental order, or mechanical, electronic or communications failure or degradation, or any other emergency) or anything else that renders performance of the Event, in whole or in part, impracticable, illegal or impossible.
Registration is personal and non-transferable. If a Participant cancels their registration, the registration will be invalidated and access to the Event will be denied.
As part of imec’s sustainability efforts and in order to avoid food waste, Participants are requested to notify imec of a no‑show at least ten (10) days prior to the Event.
Participants must adhere to all safety and health instructions and protocols put in place by imec at the Event.
Moreover, Imec, in its sole discretion, and without any liability or obligation to refund, reserves the right to refuse admission to or to remove any Participant who:
Except in cases of wrongful misconduct or where liability cannot be excluded by law, imec and its affiliated entities shall not be liable for any personal injury, loss, or damage to Participants arising in connection with the Event.
Participant is responsible for arranging appropriate insurance covering all risks related to its attendance at the Event.
The Event may involve services provided by third parties, including but not limited to venues, caterers, accommodation providers, transport providers, sponsors and speakers.
imec does not control and shall not be responsible or liable for the acts or omissions of such third parties, nor for any loss, damage or injury arising from or in connection with services provided by them, except to the extent such damage results directly from imec’s fault or where liability cannot be excluded under applicable law.
Participant acknowledges and agrees that views expressed by speakers at or in connection with the Event are their own and we do not accept any responsibility or liability for any advice given or views expressed during or in connection with the Event.
Materials shared or distributed at or in connection with the Event are intended for information purposes only and should not be relied upon by you or others. We and our related companies do not provide any guarantees, conditions or warranties that the materials are complete or accurate and do not accept any responsibility or liability for reliance by you or any person on any aspect of the Event and/or any information provided at the Event.
Nothing in this Agreement grants the Participant any IP rights or licenses in the Event materials (including any developments or variations of them).
Participants are not allowed to make (audio)visual material of the presentations or speakers at the Event.
Any accommodation suggestions provided on the Event website are for information purposes only and without obligation. Hotel bookings are made at the Participant’s own risk and imec does not guarantee or warrant the quality of this accommodation or related services.
Imec is committed to protecting the personal information of its Participants. These Terms include and incorporate by reference imec’s privacy statement, which explains the types of information collected (including photography, audio and video recording), stored, shared and processed in connection with the relevant Event, how and why imec uses such information, who imec shares it with and the legal rights of Participants.
