Business Development Manager – ASIC Services

What you will do

Imec is the largest independent semiconductor R&D facility within Europe. At imec, we shape the future. Within the organization, IC-link is a division offering first-in-class ASIC services to start-up’s, scale-up’s and larger companies. As our activities are growing, we are looking for a dedicated Business Development Manager for ASIC development and ASIC design services. In this role: 

• You build and manage a portfolio of customers in need of ASIC design and other imec.IC-link services. 
• You have a good knowledge of the digital and analog ASIC design flows, the required effort and the parameters influencing the intricacy of the tasks. 
• Thanks to your knowledge of chip design and in cooperation with the IC-link activity leaders, you are able to propose solutions to our customers. 
• Collaborating with the other IC-link business managers and the technical team you advise and promote the most optimal chip technology, design flow and execution strategy for our customers’ application.  
• You prepare quotations for customers according to their design needs, negotiate contracts supported by our legal team and close deals with diverse accounts in Europe and rest of the World. 
• You regularly provide forecasts for and updates of the business. 
• You act as the facilitator and negotiator for solving (technical or non-technical) problems during the project in a pragmatical manner.  
• You support the activity leaders and project managers to ensure a correct, adequate and efficient execution of projects. 
• You advise the management regarding actions and (strategic) decisions. 
• You represent imec at external fairs and exhibitions where design houses, subcontractors, universities, chip foundries and customers meet one another.

Who you are

• You have a good knowledge of the IC and digital technology market. 
• You are fluent in English and have good verbal and written communication skills. Other languages are a plus. 
• You have a Master’s degree with strong knowledge in chip design and fabrication. 
• You have preferably worked as an ASIC designer for several years of your previous career. 
• You have a minimum of 5 years of experience in technical service sales and/or business development.  
• Technical knowledge of digital and analog chip design flows and a design-level knowledge of chip fabrication, testing, packaging and qualification (CMOS) is a must. 
• Experience with full development cycle of complex SoC’s is a plus, from requirements until mass production. 
• System level design knowledge is a plus.
