Data and information (manager)
In our mission to transform Imec’s enterprise architecture to support our continued growth, we are seeking a data & information manager. This role entails mapping current and future information and (master) data management processes on a corporate data model to support enabling (Finance, Warehouse, Asset maintenance, …) and R&D functions. You will be part of the enterprise architecture team. Driving change is your second nature.
What you will do
- Master Data Management: Drive adoption of critical master data management processes across the organization.
- Enterprise Data Model Leadership: Define and evolve a canonical business data model for the entire enterprise, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and contribute to the enterprise knowledge graph.
- Data Ownership Culture: Foster a culture of data and information ownership, emphasizing quality, security, and lifecycle management among data owners and stewards.
- Business Requirements Analysis: Work closely with business and R&D teams to identify, capture and translate business requirements into processes, tooling and supporting artifacts to increase data and information management maturity.
- Liaison between business and technical stakeholders: define functional specifications that serve as opportunities for ICT data teams, create and maintain an end-to-end roadmap for development activities.
- Data Retention & Preservation: Set data retention policies and guide requirements for data preservation (e.g., backup, SLAs) in collaboration with the business and technical teams.
- Cost Optimization: Develop and maintain a cost allocation model aligned with the IMEC R&D matrix, working with ICT to optimize data costs across on-prem, offline, and cloud environments.

Who you are
- Proven background in data and information management, ideally within an R&D and production context (+5 years’ experience).
- Experience in data modelling and business process modelling.
- Solid understanding of the data ecosystem, including the potential and attention points of generative AI, and deep understanding of organizational information and data needs for customers, employees, and business partners.
- Strong conceptual and analytical abilities to support decision-making, creative solutions, and strategic planning.
- Self-driven, critical thinker, pragmatic, and autonomous problem solver focused on efficiency and effectiveness.
- Excellent networking, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to bring an engaging message.
- Positive, patient, and persistent approach to driving change and user adoption.
