Enterprise Project & Governance Manager

What you will do

At imec, breakthrough innovation doesn't only happen in our labs. It also happens behind the scenes, where we continuously evolve the way our organization operates, collaborates, and delivers impact.

We're looking for an experienced Enterprise Project & Governance Manager to lead strategic, organization-wide initiatives that shape the future of imec. In this highly visible role, you will operate at the crossroads of strategy, governance, project leadership and change management, partnering with stakeholders across departments including R&D, HR, Finance, ICT, Legal and Operations.

If you thrive in complex environments, enjoy bringing people together around a common goal and know how to turn ambiguity into structured execution, we'd love to meet you.

Your impact

As Corporate Project Manager, you will lead high-impact initiatives that extend beyond departmental boundaries and contribute directly to imec's strategic ambitions.

You will:

  • Drive strategic transformation projects from concept and business cases through implementation and adoption.
  • Align diverse stakeholders and facilitate decision-making in a matrix organization where influence matters more than hierarchy.
  • Translate strategic goals into structured roadmaps, clear governance models, and tangible results.
  • Act as a trusted partner to senior leadership, providing transparency on progress, risks and key decisions.
  • Foster collaboration across departments and create momentum around change initiatives

Shape how decisions are made

Beyond project delivery, you will play a key role in strengthening the way imec governs and executes cross-functional initiatives.

You will:

  • Design and implement governance structures that enable effective decision-making and accountability.
  • Establish steering committees, working groups, and decision forums that bring the right stakeholders together.
  • Clarify roles, responsibilities, and escalation paths in complex multi-stakeholder environments.
  • Develop reporting frameworks, KPI’s and dashboards that provide clear insights and support informed decisions.
  • Continuously improve governance and portfolio management practices within the
    organization.

What we do for you

We offer you the opportunity to join one of the world’s premier research centers in nanotechnology at its headquarters in Leuven, Belgium. With your talent, passion and expertise, you’ll become part of a team that makes the impossible possible. Together, we shape the technology that will define the society of tomorrow.

We are committed to being an inclusive employer and proud of our open, multicultural, and informal working environment with ample possibilities to take initiative and show responsibility. We commit to supporting and guiding you in this process; not only with words but also with tangible actions. Through imec.academy, 'our corporate university', we actively invest in your development to further your technical and personal growth.

We are aware that your valuable contribution makes imec a top player in its field. Your energy and commitment are therefore appreciated by means of a market appropriate salary with many fringe benefits.

What you bring

We're looking for someone who combines strategic thinking with a pragmatic execution mindset.

You have:

  • At least 5 years of experience in project, program, or portfolio management within a complex matrix organization.
  • A proven track record of leading cross-functional initiatives involving senior stakeholders.
  • Experience designing governance models, decision-making frameworks or PMO practices.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence without formal authority.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and facilitation capabilities.
  • The ability to maintain the bigger picture while driving operational execution.

What sets you apart

 You are someone who:

  • Creates structure complexity.
  • Builds trust across different stakeholder groups.
