Optical interconnects for hyperscale GPU cluster

Internship/thesis - Leuven | Just now

Silicon photonic link solution for high-bandwidth GPU-to-GPU communication

This internship focuses on the design and evaluation of silicon photonic optical interconnects for hyperscale GPU clusters, targeting large-bandwidth GPU-to-GPU data transfer. The work will investigate end-to-end photonic link architectures for ultra high baudrate optical transmitters and receivers, with a focus on realistic system modeling and performance assessment. A key objective is the development of analysis tools to extract standardized figures-of-merit such as Transmitter and Dispersion Eye Closure Quaternary (TDECQ). In addition, the student will explore and establish novel figures-of-merit that accurately assess link performance and system limitations.
