Program/Project Manager – Process Integration (TIP)

What you will do

We are seeking a seasoned technology leader to join imec’s Technology Integration and Prototyping (TIP) unit. In this role, you will oversee complex, multi‑stakeholder projects that define and advance imec’s cutting‑edge process integration capabilities. You will help us shape technology roadmaps, mentor junior members, and ensure imec delivers industry‑relevant solutions across a broad set of advanced technology domains. 

As a Senior Project Leader, you will: 

  • Lead and strategically steer high‑complexity process integration projects/programs in fields like photonics, MEMS, microfluidics, optics, and GaN technologies. 
  • Define project strategy, scope, and execution plans, ensuring alignment with imec’s internal roadmaps and customer needs. 
  • Drive technical direction, leveraging your deep semiconductor integration expertise to guide teams through critical challenges and make informed, high‑impact decisions. 
  • Oversee cross‑functional collaboration, coordinating efforts across process integration, device engineering, design, reliability, materials, and fab operations. 
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners, managing expectations and ensuring transparent communication on progress, risks, and deliverables. 
  • Shape and optimize resource planning supporting prioritization across programs and ensuring efficient team and fab utilization. 
  • Mentor junior project leaders and technical staff, fostering a culture of excellence, ownership, and continuous improvement. 
  • Represent imec at key technical and strategic discussions, both internally and with customers. 
  • Drive high‑quality documentation, decision frameworks, risk assessments, and executive‑level reporting.

Who you are

  • You hold a PhD or Master’s degree in engineering, physics, materials science, or applied sciences. 
  • You bring 7–10+ years of experience in semiconductor fabrication within 200mm and/or 300mm facilities. 
  • You have demonstrated expertise in at least one of the relevant domains: photonics, MEMS, microfluidics, optics, or GaN. 
  • You have a strong track record of leading complex, multidisciplinary technology projects with significant technical and organizational impact. 
  • You excel in stakeholder management and communication, including at senior and executive levels. 
  • You are proactive, strategic, and comfortable navigating ambiguity in a fast‑evolving R&D environment. 
  • You demonstrate strong decision‑making, risk assessment, and problem‑solving capabilities. 
  • You are motivated by collaboration and enjoy leading projects in a highly international environment. 
  • You either live in Belgium or are willing to relocate (support provided).
