Quantum Computing electrical characterization

Master projects/internships - Leuven | Just now

Characterize leading edge SpinQubit devices electrically at room and cryogenic temperature.

Imec is developing a technology platform inside its 300mm Fab dedicated to Quantum Computing. The operation of SpinQubit devices being very complex, we are exploring innovative fast and accurate characterization techniques to dramatically increase the speed of learning.

Your role is to support the project team by performing electrical characterization of most advanced Silicon SpinQubit devices both at room and cryogenic temperatures. Apart from the hands-on measurements, you will present summaries to the team, plot key figures of merit, program routines to extract relevant parameters and write a technical documentation. You will interact closely with the project team to ensure the parameters extracted are relevant to monitor the fabrication process and the SpinQubit performance. You will participate to research activities by exploring the use of advanced CMOS electrical characterization techniques to probe the properties of the semiconductor/gate oxide interface.

Your profile

  • Master student in Science or Engineering Science, focusing on Nanoscience & nanotechnology, Semiconductor device physics or Electrical Engineering.
  • Proficient in English
  • You are research oriented and truly passionate about semiconductor physics.
  • You feel equally well measuring in a lab environment or confronting experimental data to theoretical concepts.
  • You are adapting to new software without difficulties and not afraid of programming.
  • You are ready to join a multicultural environment and learn intensely to deliver qualitative results.
