Theoretical Modelling of masing in Diamond and SiC

Master internship, Bachelor internship - Leuven | Just now

1. Simulate collective spin-cavity coupling using Lindblad master equations

Continuous-wave solid-state MASERs utilizing diamond Nitrogen-Vacancy (NV) centers has been demonstrated towards ultra-low-noise microwave amplification at room temperature [1][2]. This internship focuses on creating predictive mathematical models to optimize the coupling between the NV spin ensemble and high-Q microwave cavities. The student will bridge core quantum optics theory and microwave engineering to study the physical masing threshold in diamond/SiC platforms.
