The Work Preparator is responsible for preparing and supporting maintenance activities, with the goal of ensuring efficient and timely execution of all corrective, preventive, and modification-related maintenance tasks. This is done in close collaboration with internal departments and external suppliers.

The Work Preparator is responsible for preparing and supporting maintenance activities, with the goal of ensuring efficient and timely execution of all corrective, preventive, and modification-related maintenance tasks. This is done in close collaboration with internal departments and external suppliers.

The assignment

  • Assessing failures and notifications on-site and translating them into technical work orders
  • Converting notifications into preparation status in SAP or PLANON
  • Creating job cards, work instructions, and method statements for each work order
  • Estimating and registering required materials, resources, services, and execution time
  • Communicating with suppliers for quotations, technical information, and availability
  • Creating purchase requests in SAP and following up on deliveries and services (expediting)
  • Managing and monitoring material movements, including control of spare stock
  • Assessing whether work is Like-for-Like or requires Engineering approval (Corrective/MOC)
  • Providing technical support to technicians and supplying all necessary work documentation
  • Aligning with the planner on execution possibilities and available capacity
  • Updating statuses in SAP and closing work orders in coordination with the execution team

Required knowledge and skills

Technical competences
  • Technical bachelor’s degree or associate degree in electromechanics, maintenance technology or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in technical work preparation or a maintenance environment
  • Solid knowledge of SAP PM and preferably PLANON
  • Understanding of COSO principles: Corrective, Preventive, Repair, Predictive maintenance
  • Familiarity with industrial installations (HVAC, utilities, cleanroom, process installations)
  • Good knowledge of work preparation procedures and technical documentation

Language Skills
  • Dutch: fluent (working language on the floor)
