At imec’s FAB Training Centre, we prepare the next generation of cleanroom operators through a unique blend of theory, hands-on practice in the cleanroom, and immersive e-learning. To strengthen this program, we are adding XR training modules that bring procedures and decision-making to life.
We are looking for a motivated bachelor student to support this innovation through XR script writing and voice-over design.
Your role will be to bridge the gap between experts, trainees, and XR developers:
- You will first follow the reallife training yourself to experience the workflows directly.
- You will then design scripts that go beyond step-by-step instructions, focusing on understanding the “why”, developing human skills, and training both mind and hands.
- Scripts should use repetition with progression, so learners not only repeat tasks faster but also keep their eye for detail.
- You will collect insights through observations, interviews, photos, and video, and translate them into clear, structured scenarios.
- Finally, you will design voice-over guidance that makes training natural, motivating, and effective.
This internship combines technical writing, storytelling, and learning design within the cutting edge of semiconductor training.
Skillset we are looking for
- Interest in XR/VR/AR and digital learning
- Affinity with technical writing, storytelling, or instructional design
- Curiosity to explore complex technical processes and make them understandable
- Strong communication and interviewing skills
- Analytical mindset: structuring procedures into clear, repeatable flows
- Creativity: designing scripts that combine physical actions, decision-making, and teamwork
- Basic multimedia skills (photo, video, audio editing) are a plus
- English is the main working language; Dutch is an asset
What you will gain
- First-hand experience in a world-class cleanroom training environment
- The opportunity to co-create immersive learning scenarios with real impact
- A portfolio piece that blends theory, practice, and XR design
- Cross-disciplinary collaboration with trainers, engineers, and XR specialists
