At imec, we aim to minimise our environmental impact in all aspects of how we work and communicate. This includes making conscious choices about when and how we use printed materials.
Whenever possible, we choose digital communication solutions. This helps reduce paper use and limits the environmental impact associated with our communications.
When printed materials are required, we work with sustainable printing partners. They select the most sustainable production options available and calculate the remaining CO₂ footprint. This footprint is then converted into a financial climate contribution paid by imec.
These contributions support certified climate projects worldwide and contribute to broader climate action beyond the printed page.
Since March 2023, imec has been supporting a climate project in Zambia through its cooperation with certified sustainable printing partners.
The project focuses on reforestation and sustainable agriculture, benefiting both the climate and local communities.
Our approach to sustainable printing forms part of imec’s wider ESG and sustainability ambitions.
More information can be found in imec’s annual and sustainability report.
