Test Engineer for Superconducting Electronics (Entry Level)

Imec is expanding its R&D activities into the field of superconducting electronics. Using imec’s state-of-the-art 200mm and 300mm silicon technology platform, we point our ambition to breakthroughs in superconducting electronics. Currently, we are looking for a Test Engineer for Superconducting Electronics.

Here's what you'll do:

  • Take responsibility for the lab measurement and characterization of superconducting electronic devices.
  • Improve and optimize the existing design and characterization methodologies and procedures.
  • Contribute to funded and bilateral projects through their definition and their execution, depending on level of experience and expertise.
  • Report to colleagues and clients.
  • Contribute to publications in international journals and conferences.

Key Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Electronics or Physics or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in device measurement and characterization.
  • Experience in software control of lab instruments.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Strong programming skills with experience in Matlab or Python
  • Experience with database management and hardware-to-model correlation.
  • Experience in low noise, high speed test.
  • Good communication skills for interfacing with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently, while being part of a team.
  • Pragmatic and hands on, with a can-do attitude.
  • Experience working in R&D environments.
