Electrical Engineer for Compute Devices

What you will do

Imec is the world-leading research and innovation hub in nanoelectronics and digital technologies. By leveraging our world-class infrastructure and local and global ecosystem of partners across a multitude of industries, we create groundbreaking innovation in application domains such as healthcare, smart cities and mobility, logistics and manufacturing, energy, and education. In the Compute Device Technology group, we focus on researching and developing the next generation of compute and quantum chips, with a brand new focus on advanced BEOL/MOL (Back-End-of-Line / Middle-of-Line) technologies. Our team is responsible for delivering critical electrical test data that fuels device innovation. These activities require precise measurements, organized lab operations, and high quality data reporting. In this context, we are looking for a hands-on and meticulous Electrical Engineer to strengthen our team.

You will be a key contributor to our operations, with a focus on supporting our senior engineers. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Taking ownership of advanced BEOL/MOL electrical test topic within the device team.
  • Actively contributing to the ramp-up of a new 300mm cryostat, assisting in its setup and commissioning to enable device measurements at ultra-low temperatures.
  • Helping to prepare documentation for new maskset and providing basic electrical reports (Current-Voltage characteristics, Capacitance).
  • Performing hands-on tasks such as dicing wafers, preparing physical sample requests, and managing sample logistics.
  • Assisting senior test engineers in their operational tasks, enabling them to focus on complex analysis and development.
  • Conducting manual electrical measurements on coupon wafers using our state-of-the-art prober stations.
  • Maintaining and improving the standardization of our measurement routines to ensure data consistency and quality.

What we do for you

We offer you the opportunity to join one of the world’s premier research centers in nanotechnology at its headquarters in Leuven, Belgium.
