Hybrid phononic-photonic integrated systems for quantum information processing

PhD - Leuven | Just now

Quantum technologies are rapidly evolving, among which superconducting or color center qubits are promising candidates for scalable quantum information processing. However, current approaches remain limited by the lack of integrated phononic-photonic components that are core to many of the beforementioned quantum technologies.

The proposed PhD research will explore the intricate interactions between photonic and phononic systems. This study aims to uncover new insights into how light and sound waves can be manipulated and controlled within various materials, potentially leading to groundbreaking applications in communication technologies and material sciences. The research will focus on the fundamental principles governing these interactions, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to the advancement of both theoretical and practical knowledge in this emerging field.
