Industrial Engineering and Operation Excellence – develop a governance and supporting procedures for advanced process control at the Imec Leuven Fab.

Objective
For this thesis/internship, the goal is to develop a governance structure and supporting documentation for the Imec FDC (fault detection and control) process control program. Interaction with all parties involved is crucial as these procedures will affect how Fab Engineers and Researchers will have to monitors the Tools in the future. A thorough interest in Change Management, Process Quality and Operation Excellence is beneficial

 

Chip manufacturing requires in depth insights into the manufacturing process, and it continuously monitors the behaviour of the Tool and the Wafers running through it. For this the be successful it requires a well thought out governance and procedure that keeps all parties involved focused on the task ahead. Change Management and on understanding of Operation Excellence is key in this endeavour.

Duration: 1 year

Required degree: Master of Engineering Technology, Master of Engineering Science, Master of Bioengineering

Required background: Chemistry/Chemical Engineering, Bioscience Engineering, Electromechanical engineering, Electrotechnics/Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering
