Master internship, Bachelor internship - Leuven | Just now
IMEC is developing a technology platform inside its 300mm Fab dedicated to Quantum Computing. We are building a photo luminescence characterization testbench to characterize defect profile in semiconductors.
Your role is to develop a new measurement setup on a cryogenic testbench. This includes setting up the optical & electrical instrumentation chain from a pre-existing layout, physically connecting the systems and programming an automation framework. Parts may have to be specifically designed, simulated and produced on site using the existing infrastructure (Fab lab, mechanical workshop or microelectronics lab). Leading-edge devices including Silicon Spin Qubit devices will be used as a test vehicle to determine the measurement repeatability, accuracy and performance. In charge of the system validation, you will be establishing a calibration protocol and deliver its documentation.
Your profile : Bachelor or Master student in Science or Engineering Science, focusing on Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Photonics or Optoelectronics. Proficient in English, you feel best in a lab environment experimenting and developing new systems or functionalities. Self-starter and result oriented, you are eager to discover and use the full potential of leading-edge equipment. You are at ease with several programming languages including Python and not afraid to integrate heterogeneous systems. You are ready to join a multicultural environment and learn intensely to deliver qualitative results.
Type of internship: Master internship, Bachelor internship
