Prospect Manager

This mission-driven research initiative at imec is intended to address societal difficulties that require technological advancement, with the goal of achieving breakthrough innovations. The initiative aims to influence the area ecosystem by bringing together imec's worldwide network with local business and research. You will work with academic and industrial R&D groups to shape the future of learning & training.

We are now looking for a Prospect Manager to lead the approved mission driven research program: “Upskill employees for tomorrows jobs”. This program aims to use technology to make learning solutions more scalable and efficient so we can tackle the ginormous challenge of preparing people for the ever-evolving jobs impacted by this new industrial revolution. imec’s extensive expertise in AI, data technology and sensing will be used to enable next generation learning and training technologies to solve the societal challenge of the current workforce.

What you will do

You will be responsible for setting up a road mapping exercise, projects, and dissemination activities to achieve the goals of the program, thereby involving and aligning internal and external stakeholders.

This will require:

  • Setting up projects which contribute to the roadmap of the track and involve regional industry players.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with imec colleagues and the regional and international ecosystem (industry, research institutes, government, societal stakeholders).
  • Facilitate industry interactions by:
    • Identifying industry needs and linking it to the research.
    • Exploring potential collaboration.

You will manage the program portfolio: setting up Prospect research projects, fueling,  steering and managing the pipeline of proposals, and follow-up of the approved  project.

You will also oversee the results of finished projects, including feedback into the overarching roadmap of the research strategy, overseeing activities of project result dissemination, and actively looking to spillover results to other research areas.

Involving local industry in this initiative is crucial. You will need to safeguard maximal  involvement of regional (Flemish) industry (1) in the roadmap of the research track, (2) in the different projects and (3) in later dissemination, valorization and spillovers of the mission-driven research.

  • Exploring, facilitating, and setting up collaborations with imec research groups and regional industry partners.
  • Building a knowledge- and IP-portfolio in the frame of the program, in interaction with imec valorization teams, IP and legal departments; and other involved stakeholders.
  • Ensuring dissemination of the program and its projects.
  • Internal and external reporting on the program.
