R&D Lab Responsible
What you will do
You will be part of the Lab Operations & Coordination department. As a member of our ULSO team (Ubiquitous Lab Support and Operations), you will play a key role in keeping imec’s labs outside the cleanroom organized, efficient and safe.
- You are part of a team of 3 hardware engineers, 2 measurement engineers and 2 other labs responsible, keeping labs outside the cleanroom running. You work closely together with your colleagues daily.
- The lab responsible is a dedicated point of contact for lab users and researchers to implement new tools and processes.
- Together with the researchers you make risk assessments to create save procedures for new and adjusted processes.
- You take care of all what is needed to work in the lab: tools, consumables, personal protective equipment, ...
- You train new lab users and provide access to the labs via the available procedures.
- You set up lab rules and guard them.
- Together with the hardware engineers you make or adjust the floor plans with an eye on ergonomic, efficient and practical use.
- You maintain data platforms which support the lab working and keep them up to date.
- You organize meetings on a regular basis with all lab employees involved.

Who you are
- You are social and treat your colleagues as equal, you can be assertive when necessary.
- You have a master’s in engineering, or comparable by experience, with a chemical background or have experience of working with chemicals.
- You are a team player who can share concerns and make proposals with the team to create a uniform way of working for all imec labs.
- You are honest and show determination with the necessary diplomacy.
- Given the international character of imec, fluency in English is a must.
- Safety is a high priority for you.
