R&D Manager Lay-out and Design Support
What you will do
- Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team of engineers focused on IC layout and data preparation workflows for mask manufacturing.
- Translate department strategy into actionable plans and ensure alignment across the team.
- Organize and assign resources effectively to meet project timelines and technical requirements.
- Monitor and control project budgets, ensuring actual spending aligns with forecasts and strategic goals.
- Collaborate with other groups and departments (e.g., design, process integration, quality) to ensure smooth design completion and mask ordering.
- Collaborate with project management, PMO and other parts of imec to ensure project intake and execution
- Drive continuous improvement in methodologies, tools, and workflows to enhance quality, efficiency, and throughput.
- Provide technical and managerial guidance, coaching, and career development for team members.
- Generate regular reports on team performance, project status, resource usage, and budget consumption.

Who you are
- PhD or master’s degree in electrical engineering, microelectronics, or a related field.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in IC layout, PDK, or photomask-related domains, including 3+ years in a leadership or management role.
- Solid understanding of IC physical design processes, design-to-mask workflows, and PDK.
- Proven experience in project management, budgeting, and team leadership.
- Experience with EDA tools (e.g., Cadence, Mentor, Synopsys).
- Good understanding of semiconductor manufacturing process.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proactive, results-oriented mindset with a strong sense of ownership.
