Senior Nanopore Researcher

What you will do

As a growing area in the imec’s HEALTH portfolio, we are seeking a scientifically driven expert to drive imec’s strategic initiatives in nanopore technology. This role is ideal for a researcher with a broad and deep understanding of nanopore science, who thrives in multidisciplinary environments and is motivated to shape the future of single-molecule sensing platforms.
In this job, your key responsibilities will be: 
  • Drive scientific innovation and execution of nanopore-related research, including processing, packaging, fluidics, and chemistry
  • Maintain a comprehensive overview of the nanopore research landscape and identify emerging opportunities
  • Translate scientific insights into project milestones and report on progress
  • Design and implement advanced measurement schemes to characterize nanopore devices and sensing performance
  • Represent imec in external consortia, funding proposals, and scientific forums
  • Mentor junior researchers

Who you are

  • PhD in physics, (bio)engineering, nanotechnology, or related field.
  • Proven track record in solid-state nanopore research
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Team player with experience in multidisciplinary environments and stakeholder engagement.
  • Fluency in English
