Tax Officer — 80% role

What you will do

At imec, we explore the technology of tomorrow — from nanoelectronics to digital innovation. To make that possible, we rely on strong teams behind the scenes. As part of our finance organization, tax plays a key role in keeping everything compliant, accurate and future-ready.
As Tax Officer, you will support the Tax Manager and Tax Specialist with day-to-day tax compliance across the imec group. You will help prepare tax filings, keep documentation up to date, support reporting processes and coordinate with finance colleagues, external advisors and tax authorities. It is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys accuracy, structure and teamwork — and who is eager to grow in an international R&D environment.

Your role and responsibilities

Tax compliance and reporting

  • Support the preparation and submission of corporate income tax, VAT, withholding tax, and other tax filings.
  • Collect, validate, and reconcile financial data required for tax reporting.
  • Maintain tax compliance calendars and monitor filing deadlines.
  • Manage tax documentation and ensure accurate record keeping.
  • Coordinate information requests from internal stakeholders, external advisors, and tax authorities.

Corporate Income Tax

  • Assist with the preparation of tax returns and supporting documentation.
  • Support tax incentive and deduction processes.
  • Monitor tax payments and compliance obligations.

International Tax & Transfer Pricing

  • Support transfer pricing documentation and annual compliance requirements.
  • Assist with Country-by-Country Reporting, Pillar Two, and other international tax obligations.
  • Coordinate tax-related information requests from foreign entities and advisors.
  • Maintain intercompany tax and transfer pricing documentation.

VAT & Indirect Taxes

  • Support the preparation and review of VAT returns and related filings.
  • Assist with VAT audits and compliance reviews.
  • Monitor changes in VAT legislation and support their implementation.

Tax Governance & Process Improvement

  • Help maintain tax controls, procedures, and documentation.
  • Support the continuous improvement of tax processes and reporting.
  • Contribute to a robust and compliant tax framework across the organization.

Who you are

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Tax, or equivalent through experience.
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience in tax, accounting, audit, or finance.
  • Experience in an international environment is an asset.
  • Curious and willing to develop broader tax knowledge over time.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with a high attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
  • Fluent in Dutch and English.
  • Strong knowledge of Excel and financial systems.
  • Experience with SAP/Fiori or similar ERP systems is an asset.
