ASIC Solution Architect

What you will do

As ASIC Solution Architect, you play a central role in shaping winning technical proposals and guiding customers toward successful silicon solutions.

  • Lead the end‑to‑end technical offer generation process, driving a top‑down approach that ensures consistency, feasibility, and competitiveness across design, test, packaging, and manufacturing.
  • Define the project architecture of ASIC solutions, selecting process technologies, package options, chip partitioning, test strategies, and all elements impacting technical performance, timeline and cost.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary expertise by working closely with imec’s design, packaging, test, and manufacturing departments to build executable and optimized solutions.
  • Drive cost and performance optimization, ensuring proposals meet target pricing and margin requirements set by Business Development and Portfolio Management.
  • Support Business Development in customer engagements, answering technical queries during pre‑sales, participating in key technical meetings, and contributing to customer‑facing discussions.
  • Create high‑quality technical collateral, including architecture descriptions, pre‑sales documentation, and technology briefs that help win new business.
  • Ensure coherence for turnkey proposals, aligning all technical building blocks to deliver consistent, competitive, and executable end‑to‑end solutions.
  • Initiate and contribute to structural improvement actions, such as enhancing quoting processes, reducing structural costs, and supporting capability growth in Expertise Centers.
  • Represent IC‑Link’s technical voice in interactions with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders.

Who you are

You are an experienced technical leader with a passion for architecting advanced ASIC solutions and guiding customers toward successful implementations. You bring:

  • 10–15 years of experience in one of the core ASIC domains (design, test, packaging, or manufacturing), including both hands‑on project execution and architectural responsibilities.
  • Strong system‑level thinking, able to look beyond your discipline to craft optimal end‑to‑end solutions.
  • Creative and strategic problem‑solving skills, with the ability to reason top‑down and propose competitive, manufacturable architectures.
  • Solid understanding of the semiconductor ecosystem, including suppliers, subcontractors, and manufacturing flows.
  • Experience with cost modeling for both NRE and volume manufacturing, and an understanding of how technical decisions influence commercial outcomes.
  • Excellent communication skills, enabling clear interaction with customers, Business Development, and engineering teams.
  • Ability to produce clear, concise technical documentation for pre‑sales activities and design‑win support.
  • A collaborative mindset, thriving in a multi‑disciplinary environment.
  • A results‑driven attitude, focused on building winning, executable, and competitive technical proposals.
  • This position is based in Leuven, Belgium. You either live in Belgium or are willing to relocate.
