As a FAB Industrial Engineer you will optimize operational & manufacturing processes in the imec Fab. The role ensures efficient production and cost-effectiveness while maintaining quality and safety standards.

FAB Industrial Engineer - Fab Capacity Management 

What you will do

  • You are a member of the Fab Manufacturing and Automation department, focusing on Fab capacity and resource management, both from a tactical as well as from a systemic viewpoint. 
  • In this context, you help to setup/co-create an improved imec Fab capacity system. 
  • You maintain production capacity planning and balance equipment utilization, in addition to making capacity and usage forecasts based on the business outlook. 
  • You collect and interpret operational and manufacturing data in a statistical way to support Fab capacity planning both from a modeling and operational perspective. 
  • You are data-driven and implement Lean and proficient in methodologies such as Six Sigma. 
  • You are able to communicate with Project Managers, Fab Line management and Senior management to collect information and report-out.

Who you are

  • You have a Master’s degree in Engineering or Exact Sciences, or equal by experience. 
  • Prior experience or knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing or another complex manufacturing environment, characterized by demanding processes, high product mix, delicate materials and reentrant process flows is a strong asset. 
  • Knowledge of and experience with methodologies such as Six Sigma, lean manufacturing is a strong asset. 
  • You take ownership and take all factors into account when making decisions.  
  • You have strong (technical) communication skills. You are an active listener, able to detect the needs of your internal stakeholders. 
  • You have a pro-active approach and initiate actions when needed. You are not afraid to roll up your sleeves and dive right into the action.  
  • You can work autonomously, take initiative and are capable of planning and organizing your own work.  
  • Since you will be working in a highly international environment and will be maintaining a good contact with colleagues and co-workers from all over the world, fluency in English is essential.
