R&D Process Assistant (XPLORE Lab)
What you will do
Become part of our Lab Operations & Coordination department as an R&D Process Assistant, where you’ll help drive customer and project success through hands-on support in our XPLORE Lab. You’ll contribute to a wide range of lab activities that replicate semiconductor processes on a smaller scale — from sample preparation, thin film deposition, growing, evaporation, sputtering, etching, photolithography techniques to wire bonding, dicing and device characterization, with an eye on general lab coordination and process support. This role offers a dynamic environment with varied tasks, making it ideal for someone who enjoys working across multiple technologies and collaborating closely with research teams.
- Collaborate closely with process engineers and technical teams to support the development and optimization of semiconductor processes.
- During a continuous flow of training and certifications activities, you will work in imec laboratories handling sensitive equipment and materials.
- Execute tasks by following, reviewing and discussing the requirements of internal customers to support production and research activities in strong teamwork with colleagues and teammates.
- Summarize and disseminate your findings and investigation through detailed written reports, contributing to continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe and efficient working environment.
- You will be part of a shift schedule that may include early and late shifts or standard day shifts, with regular weekend coverage on a rotational basis.
- Due to the hands-on nature of the work, physical presence on site is required.
- This is a fully onsite position, based at imec Leuven.
