Hardware Assistant Electron Microscopy (SEM-TEM)

As a Hardware Assistant in SEM-TEM, you will play an important role in maintaining the advanced microscopy tools that support the development and optimisation of next-generation semiconductor processes. Thanks to these state-of-the-art microscopes, we can explore structures at an incredibly small scale and help shape the chips of tomorrow.

What you will do

You will join our SEM-TEM operations team within the FAB, where we perform both in-line and out-of-line electron microscopy inspections. These inspections are essential at various stages of process development, enabling us to characterise materials and processes at wafer level with a high degree of precision. By delivering accurate and timely insights, we support our internal customers in developing innovative chip manufacturing processes that meet ever more demanding requirements. To achieve this, we rely on cutting-edge cleanroom facilities and highly advanced equipment. In this role, you will help ensure the health, quality and reliability of our microscopy tools through close collaboration with equipment suppliers and internal users. In short, you will support the teams carrying out microscopy analyses and contribute to the smooth and high-quality execution of SEM and TEM inspections.

As a SEM/TEM Hardware Assistant Technician, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Monitoring and following up on the overall health and performance of the tools.
  • Acting as the main point of contact with equipment suppliers to report, discuss and resolve tool-related issues.
  • Serving as the first point of contact for internal users when tool health or performance issues arise.
  • Contributing to the achievement of hardware performance targets and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Supporting statistical process control (SPC) activities for TEM tools to help maintain stable and reliable performance.
