Research & development - Leuven | More than two weeks ago

Lead innovation and sustainability as Program Manager Sustainable Semiconductor Technologies and Systems, driving forward groundbreaking research and impactful results.

Program manager Sustainable Semiconductor Technologies and Systems

What you will do

As Program manager Sustainable Semiconductor Technologies and Systems (SSTS), you actively contribute to the core mission of the program: helping the semiconductor value chain reduce its environmental footprint. To that end, you lead teams to develop projects and activities within SSTS, primarily focusing on the Assess and Improve strands. You align with the expert teams, resource and FAB managers to best implement your plan. You deliver the strategy defined by the program direction, in close collaboration with them.

You are responsible for leading the team technically and operationally, promoting interaction and innovation. Your open communication, enthusiasm, drive and passion for sustainability are key to creating a strong team and reaching your goals. Together with the operational managers, you monitor the performance and resources of your program and ensure you stay within agreed boundaries while meeting the program deliverables. You proactively manage changes, drive the acceleration of program activities when required, escalate showstoppers or issues within the organization, and help provide solutions.

Interaction with our industrial partners is an important part of your activities. You regularly report to our partners, help maintain a strong link with them, and respond to their specific requests. Twice a year, you actively organize and chair the Partner Technical Week reviews to showcase program results. You also support the program director in presenting program results to partners during business trips.

You seek constant improvements in both the quality and speed of our innovation. We count on you to bring new ideas to the program and help implement them.

What we do for you

We offer you the opportunity to join one of the world’s premier research centers in nanotechnology at its headquarters in Leuven, Belgium. With your talent, passion and expertise, you’ll become part of a team that makes the impossible possible. Together, we shape the technology that will determine the society of tomorrow.

We are committed to being an inclusive employer and proud of our open, multicultural, and informal working environment with ample possibilities to take initiative and show responsibility. We commit to supporting and guiding you in this process; not only with words but also with tangible actions. Through imec.academy, 'our corporate university', we actively invest in your development to further your technical and personal growth.

We are aware that your valuable contribution makes imec a top player in its field. Your energy and commitment are therefore appreciated by means of a market appropriate salary with many fringe benefits.

Who you are

  • You have a PhD degree or MSc in microelectronics, electrical engineering, physics, applied physics, material science, or a closely related discipline.
  • You have sustainability as one of your core values.
  • At least 5 year working experience in a semiconductor environment. Experience with semiconductor manufacturing and production environment is a plus.
  • You have a transdisciplinary mindset, able to embrace a broad diversity of technical topics.
  • You can translate vague objectives into deliverables, timeline and risk, and you can manage a complex portfolio of projects. Previous experiences as a R&D project leader or program manager is a real asset.
  • You are enthusiastic and have an “always improving” mentality.
  • You are customer (internal and external) driven.
